It was great to go up to Michigan for a long weekend of camping with our friends that Mike Kujawa plans every year. We drove up Wednesday after Atalie got out of work to Okemos, went to GR Thursday afternoon and then met up with many of our friends at a campsite in Montague, MI Friday evening. Canoing on Saturday was loads of fun and quite relaxing. Sunday we left earlier than the rest of the group to visit with Atalie's grandma for lunch and an early birthday celebration for Atalie. I'll leave that for Atalie to blog about.
I'm keeping this short because it is late and we're still tired from our late arrival Sunday night.

It was good to have you home - even if it was a very short time. It is important to be able to see and to hug people. Although technology has improved long distance communication by leaps and bounds, it is still no substitute for the human touch. I hope dad gets that Mini Copper he keeps talking about so we can travel your way more economically, and more often...besides they’re cute! Those are nice pictures from the camping trip. Michigan may have the highest unemployment and the worst roads, but we do have some awesome waterways and beautiful natural habitats. There are a few things going for us in spite of the rest.
I agree, Mom! (with it all) And my allergies are way less worse in MI too!
mini cooper or motorcycle -- those are the two carrots i keep dangling to get to the end of this college class. neither one will probably happen, but the possibility serves as a late-night motivator..... as mom a. said, it was so very good to have you kids home.
