WINGS WON!!
Amid a shower of "shh" from Atalie I celebrated as a fan should with jumping, yelling, clapping, yelling, jumping, clapping, and, did I mention yelling? Amazing! Unfortunately because the rest of the world doesn't give a rip about hockey (NFL, MLB, NBA- boooooo; ESPN sucks!), especially down here in Missouri (baseball-loving ogres), I must request that as much Red Wing Stanley Cup memorabilia be sent down here immediately so that I may show these oafs what they're missing. This includes, but is not limited to, shirts, hats, posters, stickers, DVDs, and maybe even a Lidstrom jersey (HINT, HINT). :)
GO WINGS!!!!!!!
Don't forget about the jersey- early Bday presents are welcome and, in fact, encouraged!!
Oh yeah Happy Birthday Mom!

Pre-Birthday
While at home this last weekend, we had a last minute unplanned b-day celebration with my family. It was a modest ordeal as it was just myself, Patrick and immediate family having dinner at my grandma's house on Sunday before we left, but Grandma made homemade mac n cheese and banana cream pie in my honor (yum!). My parents brought 2 mini cakes for blowing out my candles, and my sisters gave me lovely birthday gifts. It was convenient timing, as it saved my family the trouble of shipping me my presents in 2 weeks, which I'm sure everyone can appreciate, seeing as my present from my parents was a giant armchair! (that would have been a HUGE postal bill- haha) :) We rearranged our living room last night to accommodate our new chair (we've been hoping for a chair like this for a while now!) and we're pretty pleased. Thanks so much family!

Camping & Canoing
It was great to go up to Michigan for a long weekend of camping with our friends that Mike Kujawa plans every year. We drove up Wednesday after Atalie got out of work to Okemos, went to GR Thursday afternoon and then met up with many of our friends at a campsite in Montague, MI Friday evening. Canoing on Saturday was loads of fun and quite relaxing. Sunday we left earlier than the rest of the group to visit with Atalie's grandma for lunch and an early birthday celebration for Atalie. I'll leave that for Atalie to blog about.
I'm keeping this short because it is late and we're still tired from our late arrival Sunday night.
Here are some pictures from the weekend:
Most of the group on the river Saturday.
Atalie "The Motor" Albin, the powerhouse of the canoe, riding up front.
Mike and Amanda had a few mishaps on the river, such as getting turned around the wrong way.
Breakfast of champions: chili dogs.
